"This compilation is a listing of veterans of the Mexican War and their widows who applied for a pension under the act of 29 January 1887. These pension applications were accepted until 1926. Pensions were provided for veterans who had served sixty days, or their unremarried widows." It is important to realize that "no less than 21 military campaigns were conducted by American military personnel", thus there are records of veterans of other wars also in these records.--Pref.
